Riesling

Alsace, France. Note: From an assemblage of old vines from the Rosenberg and Altenbourg vineyards. Bright straw-green. Blood orange and lemon aromas. Juicy and ripe on the palate, with flavours of orange, tangerine and yellow apple. Lovely concentration here, very nicely balanced, finishing with bright acidity and lingering lemon and a lick of spice and herb. A lesson in purity!

Alsace, France. Note: Note: the Schlossberg is a brilliantly tightly focused, mineral interpretation of the great Rielsing grape. With a pale gold colour the Schlossberg combines power and finesse. Apple, spice, mineral and wax integrate with the sinewy structure and rich texture. The length of this wine is extraordinary.

Alsace, France. The onset in the mouth is moderately ample with a balanced alcohol support. The wine evolves on a sharp, incisive medium, marked by a sparkling note. The range of flavours is similar of that of the nose, dominated by citrus, crystallized lemon, honey, flowers, spices and ginger. The finish has a good length, 6 ‐7 caudalies, and a frank liveliness. The balance of this wine is centered on freshness and structure. The range of aromas marvelously brings out the elegance of this splendid grape variety...

Alsace, France.  The onset of this wine on the palate is pure and intense. Its equilibrium is characterized by noble material integrated in a cool, tense and mature freshness. An airy feeling gives dimension to this mouth and allows the development of notes evoking citrus fruit zest and cut grass. The length is subtle and precise, marked by a fine, smoky, mineral trend that finishes the wine with salinity. A palate that is still developing...

Alsace, France. On the palate, the onset is clear; this wine is to be enjoyed dry. A dense structure is revealed and adds straight and nervous freshness to an ample and wide volume. A very nice balance which forms the aromatic base of this wine. I rediscover citrus fruits flavours evolving on the grapefruit zest and hints of herbs such as bay leaves and hay. This explosion of aromas is then followed by noble bitters highlighting a subtle saline minerality that imprints the length of the finish of 6 to 7 caudalies, leading to a chamomile finish.
