Heathcote, Victoria.  Dark Red. Sweet rich upfront fruit expected and typical of Heathcote Shiraz. There’s more Shiraz and less Mourvedre in this blend than in previous years, and as a result is a more structured wine with more tannin. It has a similar flavour profile to the 2005, juicy sweet berry fruit, but with a firmer finish. The tiny percentage of Riesling is still there to add a spicy lift to the nose...

Heathcote, Victoria.  Deep and dark red. The wine shows the charry savoury bouquet of new barrel fermentation, with a backdrop of spicy black fruit. The palate has upfront rich spicy bittersweet fruit, and a lingering earthy savoury finish. There is a core backbone of fi ne grained charry tannin which augurs well for a long life ahead...

The soft approachable structure and ethereal fruit characters are derived in part from Coonawarra’s cool climate and partly from an intentionally lower, and somewhat ‘old fashioned’, alcohol content. The use of very tight grained oak has given length and complexity without dominating the delicate fruit...

Coonawarra.S.A. Deep magenta in colour, this does need time in the glass to open up. Initially, it is tight, taut, tense and muscular. With a little time, we have a glorious cornucopia of aromas – coffee bean, chocolate, blackberries, mulberries and more...
