Heathcote, Victoria. Deep purple red.  The aroma, while initially restrained opens up with a little breathing. Mixed spices, nutmeg, pepper and black currants are soon filling the glass.  Sweet blood plum and currants are immediately revealed on the front palate followed by a nice touch of spice. The ripe flavours are supported by fine supple tannins and just the right amount of acidity...

McLaren Vale, South Australia. Very old school aromas that are more about earth (wet earth), leather, rust, dried herb, charcuterie, and old furniture. The fruit is complex and shows pomegranate, cherry, prunes, and some black berries.Intense, dense, complex, with great attack and precision. Long, even, and integrated. The most profound thing about this wine is its finish. The tannins are majestic, ripe, and moreish. A beautiful wine that screams of McLaren Vale...

Langhorne Creek, South Australia. The 2019 WS Shiraz is a classic, rich, velvety Shiraz produced from 40-45 year old vines on the family property. The grapes were picked at optimum maturity and fermented on skins for 7 days in open fermenters, prior to maturing in French and fine grained American oak barriques for 22 months. It has an uplifting nose, showing blackberry, aniseed and chocolate. The palate is full and luscious, with excellent length of flavour and soft tannins...
