With the first vines planted in 1973, the Coal River Valley in Southern Tasmania has become firmly established among Australia’s most prestigious cool climate wine regions and Nocton, as one of the most significant vineyard sites in the valley, is proud to be a part of that tradition.
There are very few 100% Merlots in Tasmania and we cannot for the life of us understand why. Bright, lifted, cranberry on the nose with a touch of fivespice. The palate sparkles with acidity and tiny bursts of blackcurrant and elderberry flavours. The tannins are simply beautiful… wrapping the fruit into a tight and perfectly balanced parcel.
