Pinot Grigio/Gris

Mornington Peninsula. As the name suggests, fully ripe pinot gris/grigio grapes are a dusky purple grey in colour, so if you ferment the juice with the skins (as you would a red variety), you can end up, as here, with a wonderful copper-hued wine. This has an entrancing perfume of hedgerow flowers and berries, with a gorgeous, rich texture on the tongue. Think of it as a full-bodied dry rosé. And try it with lentil soup...

Mornington Peninsula. Greeny light lemon appearance. A nose of crunchy pear, green apple and light meadow hay, with some richer marzipan and lychee background notes. The palate has a delicacy and line reflective of the cooler season and is quite dry, yet shows the gingery spiciness, texture and burgeoning roundness which is characteristic... 

McLaren Vale, South Australia. ‘Poppy’ has a delicate nose of pear skin and citrus, a delicious combination which pervades the palate, too. This wine is perfect as an aperitif, or terrific with sushi or creamy soft white cow cheeses...

Marlborough, New Zealand. An elegant wine with rich fruit and exotic floral elements. The nose features focussed aromas of ripe pear, mango, mandarin and pure white florals. Dry to taste, the palate is richly textured and beautifully weighted with a long, silky finish...
