Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2024
With this release, Lenton Brae celebrates 29 consecutive vintages of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and can justifiably claim to be one of Margaret River’s leading exponents of this popular wine style.
The 2016 vintage provided perfect conditions for the early-ripening varieties of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. As with previous releases, the majority was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and vitality and at cool temperatures facilitating a gradual conversion of sugar into alcohol by selected yeasts. 8% was barrel fermented in new French oak. This years blend is 55% Semillon 45% Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting Notes
The Sauvignon Blanc contributes aromatic elements with the Semillon providing the weight and depth of flavour on the palate.
We encourage consumption within the first 2 years of vintage, though under appropriate cellaring conditions, the wine will soften and develop the honeyed, toasty characters of bottle age.
Since 1996, the Lenton Brae Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon has been awarded 7 trophies and 11 gold medals at regional, state and national competitions.
