Turon White’s take on Gamay is all about the lighter side of the variety. He isn't chasing the heavy extraction of a Shiraz; instead, he aims for something "swishy" and easy-going. It’s the kind of red that feels at home with a slight chill, focusing on transparency and fragrance rather than raw power.
The 2024 release has a real savoury, garden-herb character to it, still with all the classic hits of dark cherry and raspberry. There’s a fine, silty grip to the tannins that gives it a bit of shape.
It’s a "painted in watercolour" style of wine - light, pretty, and very drinkable. If you’re a fan of the more ethereal, herbal expressions of Gamay coming out of the Hills, this hits the mark perfectly.
