Arnaud Lambert Loire Valley, France.
TOP 100 PRODUCERS OF FRANCE FOR 2019
”One of the most talented winemakers in the Loire - he farms his 40 hectares in a method close to biodynamic. His whole range of wines have drive, and are regularly among the best wines in and around Saumur. The whites have remarkable finesse and are extremely delicate. Also, they are chenins that are agreeable young, which is sufficiently rare as to be emphasized. His reds are at the same level. Good vine age counts for a lot, his talent just as much. A benchmark winery!”

Midi Saumur Brézé (blanc)
From his largest single holding of 3.5 ha of south-east facing vines planted in 1985 on sandy clay over limestone. This is a really prime holding almost adjoining the lieu-dit Bourguenne which is the best holding of Arnaud. Here Arnaud selects mostly from the sandy soils towards the bottom of the vineyard for this cuvee together with some fruit from his vines located near the bottom of Bourguenne. Vinification with indigenous yeast using no SO2 in a variety of stainless steel tank, ceramic eggs and part in Amphora and 100% malolactic. Bottled in May this shows excellent freshness and precision in a pure fruit-forward expression of chenin in its most pure state. Very attractive and approachable now. Un-fined, but filtered at bottling.
