Arnaud Baillot, Burgundy
Located in Beaune, the heart of the Côte d’Or. Owner and winemaker, Arnaud Baillot, now presents his third vintage of limited edition Burgundy crus.
Passionate about the diversity of wines the Burgundy region has to offer, Arnaud has teamed up with his wife Laure (grandaughter of Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Chambolle-Musigny) to produce a spectacular range of villages and crus Burgundy wines. Arnaud has been hands-on all along the way, selecting the origin of the grapes, overviewing the winemaking process, choosing the type of barrels and ageing time for each individual wine. In 2017, Arnaud and Laure acquired a small vineyard in Côte de Beaune, making their first step in having their own Estate produced wines at Domaine Arnaud Baillot. Their philosophy is to respect and promote the complexity of the Burgundy wine region while producing terroir driven wines.
Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru ‘Aux Boudots’ 2017
The Nuits-Saint-Georges wines are produced in two villages: Nuits-Saint-Georges and Premeaux-Prissey. The soils are basically composed of limestone and marl. A perfect exposure to the East gives the capacity to produce splendid wines. The ‘Aux Boudots’ vineyards is bordering the Premier Cru vineyards of Vosne Romanée, at the northern edge of the Nuits Saint Georges appellation.
Arnaud Baillot produces a characteristically firm and full-bodied Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru ‘Aux Boudots’. Rich and vigorous on the palate, with a deep, pungent bouquet, it shows considerable dimension and structure, acquiring a mellow depth and softness with age.
It will be a good partner for red wine sauces, marinated or roasted game or medium tasting cheese.
