Finesse, elegance and purity of fruit are reflective of the pristine and cool climate vineyards of Mt. Crawford in the Eden Valley. As homage to this region, Eden Trail recognises the unique vineyard sites by producing a Riesling from the higher altitudes at the Southern Edge of the Valley and Shiraz from a site laying between Angaston and Keyneton in the lower, slightly warmer micro climate.
The Heysen trail, all 1200 kms of it winds its way through the Eden Valley and in particular close by to our vineyards. The trail allows access to the glorious country of this region, which provides the perfect soils and slopes resulting in these small parcels of handmade wines.
Picked during the cool of night. An intentional minimalistic approach to winemaking to ensure the vineyard character sings. Fermented with a small percentage of stalks and whole berries, in small open fermenters and hand worked twice daily. Warm fermentation is followed by maturation in French oak barrels for 12-16 months (depending on parcel).
