With ripe berry fruit enhanced and enriched by whole bunch fermentation. This is a complex, savoury style similar to a cool-climate Pinot Noir. Perhaps James Irvine was right many years ago when he called McLaren Vale Grenache the Pinot of Fleurieu!

Colour: Attractive, not dense but bright and appealing.
Nose: Lovely ripe Grenache fruit lift; raspberries, fruit pastilles, cherries and florals with background spice and pepper. A touch of stem complexity from the whole bunch fermentation. Fruit driven and complex.
Palate: Flavoursome with good middle fruit sweetness and a soft savoury tannin finish. Herbs and spices linger on the palate.
Oak: 9 months in French oak.
Aging Potential: This wine has the potential to develop with careful medium-term cellaring.
