Halls Gap Estate was planted in 1969 on the eastern slopes of the Grampians ranges in Western Victoria. For a long time a grower for Seppelts and Penfolds, the vineyard was purchased by the late great Trevor Mast in the mid 1990’s and subsequently became a Mount Langi Ghiran vineyard.

In 2014 it was purchased by Aaron Drummond (half of Circe Wines) and a new chapter has begun. High elevation, old vines and ancient rocky soils have kept yields low but always delivered incredible quality. 23 acres under vine with a predominance of Shiraz, but a small paddock of old Riesling and Cabernet. The Single vineyard wines of the Estate are labelled Fallen Giants in reference to the dreamtime stories about the creation of the mountains.

From a single vineyard planted in 1969 on the eastern slopes of the Grampians. A nice even year with little in the way of heat spikes in the region. The Shiraz was hand picked in March, then fermented in traditional open fermenters with hand plunging twice a day.
