Gustave Lorentz Riesling Reserve 2021

Gustave Lorentz Riesling Reserve 2021
Alsace, France. Nose of pink grapefruit and lime combined with floral notes (white flowers). Bone dry and racy, with a slight mineral edge, a characteristic from Bergheim soils.  In the mouth, the palate is vibrant and intense but elegant, without any heaviness. Its acidity structure is firm but nicely integrated. It is a true gastronomic Riesling which will age well for at least 5-7 years.

Gustave Lorentz
The Lorentz family has been making wine since 1836 in the heart of the Alsace. Charles Lorentz Sr. developed his vineyards on the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim, in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Today the Estate has grown to 79 acres in this extraordinary terroir, with 3.71 acres planted on the hills of the Grand Cru Kanzlerberg and 29.65 acres in the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim. The current owner/winemaker Georges Lorentz, is the seventh generation of the family firm, headquartered in the medieval village of Bergheim, in the Haut-Rhin.

The Organic Journey
Firmly convinced of the need to preserve the environment, owner and winemaker, Georges Lorentz began the transition to organic viticulture in the early 2000s, becoming fully organic in 2009, converting all vineyards (33 hectares).

Certified Organic France The organic certification, obtained in 2012, represents the recognition of the commitment to, and respect for, the organic process. All the wines of the Domain Gustave Lorentz, from the 2012 vintage, are stamped with the approved organic certification logo.
