Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Pale straw colour. Ripe peach, honey and lemon blossom create an intense bouquet with subtle toasted oak notes. Balanced and elegant on the palate. Refreshing acidity gives length whilst oak and fruit meld into complex layers of flavour with great textural interest.
It is these soils of our Gimblett Gravels Vineyard that seem to impart a finely textured mineral quality into the finished wine, unique to Chardonnay made from this region.
Traditionally made from a single Chardonnay block planted with a variety of clones, "Les Beaux Cailloux” represents the ultimate expression of our winemaking art. Finely flavoured, complex, tautly structured.
