Bream Creek
This 7.5ha vineyard at Marion Bay in the south-east of Tasmania was originally planted in 1973, making it one of the oldest commercial vineyards on the island.
The history of Marion Bay however goes all the way back to 1642 when Abel Tasman’s expedition made their first landing in Tasmania. More recently, Fred Peacock has expanded the Pinot Noir plantings, introduced Sauvignon Blanc and pioneered Schönburger in the southern hemisphere.
Tasting Note
Bream Creek Pinot Noir
Attractive, bright colours: the aromas include Bream Creek’s typical bramble and spices but with the addition of a little chocolate and toast. With a nicely weighted palate, there are sweet plums and mulberry fruit flavours which will mature further over the next 4-6 years for even greater length and complexity.
Can’t go too far wrong with a glass of this and a good Tassie lamb rack.
