Peter Lehmann of the Barossa Valley
At Peter Lehmann Wines the art of winemaking goes hand in hand with the many people, stories and wines that make the Barossa famous.

It is now part of Barossa legend that Peter Lehmann established the winery in the late 1970s, to protect the livelihood of growers who were facing financial ruin. To this day over 140 growers, some 5th & 6th generation, supply the winery with fruit from the very best vineyards throughout the Barossa. These amazing grape resources enable Peter Lehmann to make wines for every occasion, each one crafted to deliver on quality.

Barossa Excellence Collection
The backbone of Peter Lehmann Wines is the independent grape growers and more than 900 individual vineyards laid across the length and breadth of the Barossa landscape. Our relationships with the Barossa growers as well as knowledge of the provenance and pedigree of their vineyards, has no peer in the Barossa winemaking community. This loyal bond and legacy gives us unrivalled access to the best vineyards. These exceptional vineyards are the heart of this collection of rare wines that define excellence in Barossa winemaking.

Barossa Excellence King VP
This bottle-aged vintage fortified was aged in old barrels for two years prior to bottling. The reference to AD 2023 is the winemaker’s recommended coming of age, although it will drink beautifully in the years prior. The colour has matured to a bright garnet and is brick red on the edges. The nose has enticing hints of Christmas cake, liquorice and raisin with a hint of spirit in the background. This is indeed a treasure of a wine.
