The Poole's Rock Shiraz is sourced from grapes grown on old vines located at our historic Post Office vineyard, adjacent to the winery in the heart of Pokolbin.
The vintage has produced a wine with concentration and soft, earthy characters so typical of Hunter Valley shiraz.
Dark red in colour with hints of purple hue. Lifted spicy plums, blackberries and mulberries with a velvet texture and a savoury, soft, sweet, spicy berry flavour finish.
This is an outstanding Shiraz from an excellent vintage. The wine will continue to develop gracefully over the next eight or more years if cellared in optimum conditions.
This is a medium-bodied wine which makes an ideal accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes, especially red meat dishes such as grills, roasts and casseroles, lamb or beef curry, or a mature semi-hard or hard cheese.
