The Wineseek Tasting Wash up.

7 March 2016
Thanks to all who attended the first Wineseek tasting of the year on Wednesday evening 02/03 at our fabulous new tasting venue The Royal Victorian Society in Melbourne.

We tasted the magnificent Adelaide Hills Gruner Veltiner from Cape Barren that was a real eye opener for many of the tasters, fruity savoury and delicious.

Also tasted was the newly released Cape Barren Chardonnay 2015, delicious dry and savoury drinking or cellar.
The Alta Pinot Grigio 2013 made by Kate Fletcher is a fantastic spicy take on this classic Italian white.
From Sicily we tasted the Lamura Grillo 2014, a gorgeous white at an unbelievable price that again took many a taster by suprise.

A bargain priced mouth-watering 2015 Clare Riesling from Crabtree.
There where two French beauties, the Dourthe No1 White 2014 from Bordeaux - a super savvy and the Lavau Cote du Rhone Villages 2013, all the tasters loved this grenache/syrah blend.

A Martinborough Pinot Noir, the Cupids Arrow from the terrific 2014 vintage made by the Craggy Range folk was a sensational drinking that got better and better as the night went on.
The delicious 2014 Spanish Tempranillo from Bodegas Patrochino is super drinking, one customer commenting it was a little too 'guzzleable'!

The Mitchell Peppertree Shiraz 2012 is everything you expect from a great OZ Shiraz made in the syrah style.
We also tasted a new release from the Shaw and Smith people, The Other Wine Co. Grenache 2015, which is simply gorgeous! Grab some before it disappears seriously! One of our tasters tried this wine whilst dinning out in South OZ a week or two prior to the tasting and was unable to find a bottle for sale anywhere the next day.
Finally we tasted the 2014 Nanny Goat Pinot Noir from Otago, a seriously good pinot that will cellar wonderfully.
Cheers, Michael @ Wineseek.
