Australia's best value pinot

20 June 2013
From the Great Southern area of W.A., made by Larry Cherubino one of the country’s top wine makers, the Ad Hoc Cruel Mistress Pinot Noir 2012 @ $21.95 a bottle and less with my quantity discounts is seriously the best value pinot in the country.

The wine has a pale ruby/salmon hue, with a sweet clove and black cherry aromas. The sweet spice, leather and black plum all wash over the pallet well. A medium bodied pinot with fresh juicy black fruits and smokey cedar overtones balancing the wine out.

This wine drinks more like a $30 plus bottle. I have tried better Pinots this year, but at twice the price plus - so this one rates easily as my best for quality and value. This wine at the price is remarkable.
