Why La Gemella?
The English translation of La Gemella is "twins". The wine makers mum named Maria is actually a twin and big Barbera fan. She is the real driving spirit behind the Viberti family.

Vinification
Pruning in the vineyard and two round of grapes selection during the green harvest and middle of august. The goal is lowering the production down to 7 tonnes/ha. The late harvest allowed a great ripening and concentration. Hand harvest in 20 kg boxes. After stalk removal-pressing, alcoholic fermentation & contact with the skins takes place for 8-10 days in roto fermenter tanks. Malolatic fermentation takes place in big wooden vats at 20°C. average temperature. After a short storage in steel tanks the wine mature in the same wooden vats (50 hl size).

Maturation
Maturing takes place for 6-8 months in wooden vats. After a short staorage in stanless steel the wine is Bottled and reaches maturity in the bottle for a further 2 months before being put on sale.

Sensory characteristic
Colour: deep ruby red
Bouquet: juicy red fruit nose with clear notes of blueberry and earthy touches.
Taste: The wine shows a great vibrancy and full body taste, long finish.
Preferable with: cold meat and pepper hors d'oeuvres, pasta first course dishes, pizza, white meat, cesar salad, cheese and BBQ meats.

Aging plateau: 3/5 years.
