The nose has an elegance and complexity that speaks of well grown, low yielding, hand picked fruit with a subtle lick of French oak from the barrel fermentation.  The palate starts with the classic entry, texture, fruit, and minerality. Then the power and concentration fill the mouth.
Close your eyes and enjoy the long persistent finish.

Planted in 1989 on a property 15 kilometres inland from Bicheno on Tasmania’s East Coast, Apsley Gorge Vineyard is a dedicated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producer under the stewardship of abalone diver turned winemaker, Brian Franklin, who's goal is to make AGV one of the top producers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Australia.

The vineyard is situated at the end of a valley at the entrance to the Apsley Gorge in a marginal area for spring, with late budburst, and with a later, longer ripening period with cooler nights and mild days, ideal conditions for quality pinot noir and chardonnay ripening.
