Lavau, Rhone Valley

Since 1895, the the Lavau family has been involved in winemaking, and over the years their estates have ranged from Bordeaux to the hills of Tunisia. In 1964, seduced by the richness and quality of the Provencal soil, the family decided to settle in the Rhône Valley.

The wineries and production is currently managed by the brothers Benoit and Frederic Lavau. The Lavau family has 4 wineries which produce most of the appellations of the southern Rhône Valley. The family owns over 135 hectares of vines across the valley, securing the highest quality grapes from a variety of Southern Rhone soils, including 25 hectares of Chateaneuf du Pape. Benoît and Fredéric also work with many independent growers, allowing them to select the best quality fruit from various terroirs.

Typical of the Rhône Valley, the Grenache Noire and Cinsault grape varieties deliver a wine with fine and concentrated fruit aromas.
