Airlie Bank is a lightly-oaked, fruit-driven range produced from entirely Yarra Valley fruit. Classically cool-climate in nature these wines show strong varietal qualities. They are produced for everyday drinking or medium term cellaring.
Winemaking
The 2010 Airlie Bank Sauvignon Blanc was sourced
predominantly from the cooler upper yarra region of Gladysdale from the Apple Jack vineyard. The fruit was crushed, chilled and gently pressed prior to being cold settled to retain fresh varietal characters. A portion of this wine was barrel fermented in seasoned French oak
building texture and complexity.
Bouquet
Lifted intense aromas of gooseberries, passionfruits and limes.
Palate
A delicate, refreshing wine with a finely balanced acid structure and interesting textural notes, enabling greater length of flavours and freshness. A white wine that cries out for the start of Spring and the ensuing warmer months.
