Pfalz, Germany. Colour: Pale-Straw. Nose: Almonds and light yeasty notes, preserved citrus and stone fruit, herbaceous with mineral notes. Palate: Concentrated and juicy on the palate, ripe fruit, elegant, prominent and gripping acidity with a herbaceous note and tart mineral notes. Strong contours, good depth, lively, vibrant and polished. A very good finish with a touch of lemon...
Pfalz, Germany. Rich aromatic spices, tropical fruits and a hint of smoke on the nose. Nicely balanced in the mouth, with a juicy texture to the sweet peach fruit. Salty herbs linger on the palate. Offers fine potential...
Pfalz, Germany. Slightly
muted nose, prominent yeasty notes, light nutty notes, very ripe stone
fruit, some yellow melon and candied citrus fruit, hint of lactic and
volatile notes, earthy and herbaceous notes, hint of wax and wilted
leaves. Ripe, partly candied fruit on the palate, vegetal and herbaceous
notes, more very light lactic and volatile traces, elegant, fairly
prominent acidity, earthy and mineral notes in the background, good
grip, very good substance and good persistence, not particularly deep,
light tannic touch, slightly noticeable alcohol, floral notes and a hint
of juniper, becomes clearer and more compact with aeration, still
extremely young, very good finish...
Pfalz, Germany. Colour: Pale-Straw. Nose: Hints of fresh fruits and soft maturity, floral nose with nuts and jasmine. Palate: Bitter but with good acidity, impressive mouthfeel, round, balanced, refreshing. Some fruity flavours. Lengthy and bitter finish...
Pfalz, Germany. The Palatine typical peach and apricot flavors are here in a reduced
form, combined with a deeper elegance and a far greater minerality to
smell and taste.
Palate: The 2010 vintage shows the highest elegance with a Knigsbacher
minerality, which is paired with a silky body and fine flint flavours...
Pfalz, Germany. “On the tongue the Riesling delivers the fresh sharpness you'd expect
from the high acid 2010 vintage, but it does so in a very precise way
that is not overpowering and nicely balanced by a more robust, earthy
soft depth - calling it Pfalz is quite apt, I think. It is a nice blend
of lean/sharp and juicy with great herbal spicing (almost tobacco) and
citrus. This made it a great companion to fried squid marinated in
chilli and lemon, but the spicy mineral and herb are interesting enough
in their own right. Definitely worth the money, and then some. Forget
about the summer wine nonsense..."
Pfalz, Germany. Concise, delicate peach and citrus fragrances with spicy herbaceous minerality on the nose. Very firm on the palate, lots of salt, mineral and very herbaceous spice, licorice, very good persistence and depth, very young, very harmonious, long finish. Very good!
