Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Medium garnet in colour Red fruits including cherry and red currants combine with some dark brooding fruit just beneath the surface. Floral notes, spice, earth and forest floor are woven nicely through the primary fruit. Careful oak handling imparts further complexity to the nose. There’s lots of sweet, juicy cherry and plum fruit balanced with supple and well integrated tannins. Bright natural acidity provides drive and length to the long and savoury finish. Simon Black, Winemaker.

The Estate Pinot is a blend of vineyards across the region including Main Ridge, Red Hill, Merricks and Tuerong. Hand harvested grapes were gently destemmed into 2 tonne open fermenters and allowed to soak for between 3 and 7 days before the onset of wild fermentation. Ferment temperatures were allowed to peak at 32 degrees Celsius. A post ferment maceration of 4 to 7 days followed before pressing. The wine was lightly racked to French oak Puncheons and Barriques (35% new) for natural malolactic fermentation and 11 months maturation.
