This wine is made from 100% Shiraz, produced from vines grown at Pindarie.
Shiraz is the classic variety of the Barossa Valley and it is the careful matching of variety with soil type and climate that has produced this rich full bodied wine.
Source: Entirely produced from vines grown at Pindarie. The Shiraz is clone 1654, grown on red brown earth overlying limestone to give full flavour and concentration.
Winemaking: Fermented on skins in small fermenters with gentle pumping over to extract colour, flavour and tannin. Matured for 16 months in both French and American oak to add complexity and depth in flavour.
Cellaring: Now until 2025
Style: Richness and generosity are essential to high quality Shiraz, but a core of tannin and structure ensures longevity and harmony with foor. Our 2010 is rich and fragrant, with a svelte mid-palate and gentle astringency; it is generous but even, and will live a very long time in bottle.
