Craggy Range Prestige Collection

Craggy Range Prestige Collection

Three of the Best from a Stellar Vintage across the Ditch

The Craggy Prestige collection has been released and the 2013 vintage in the Hawkes Bay Gimblett Gravels and Martinborough regions of NZ have been hailed as the ‘vintage of a generation’. These wines are amongst the best of the best wines that I have tasted and this being a stupendous vintage makes the range extra special.

•    Craggy Range Sophia Bordeaux Blend 2013 @ $83.95 per bottle.
•    Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir 2013 @ $115.00 per bottle.

La Valentina Montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOC 2010

La Valentina Montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOC 2010

A stunning Italian red bargain.

The intense ruby red colour of the wine is striking, with small violet edges. The bouquet suggests red fruit, rose petals and hints of wet spices. It is soft and warm to the palate with notes of red prune, cherry and blueberry which are harmoniously intertwined around a lively tannic theme. Being fruit of an exceptional harvest gives it a full, enveloping body, which finishes with liquorice and cloves. The wine finishes with a lingering after-taste of black pepper and cranberry.

This is exceptional drinking for the price, down from $21.30 to $17.95 a bottle and quantity discounts apply.

Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Trophy winning Margaret River Cabernet
A 89/6/5% blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot. Deep red with ruby hues. The wine exhibits vibrant, characteristic aromas of cassis, berry fruits, and dark Satsuma plums entwined with hints of bay leaf and spicy, toasty oak. The generous palate is packed full of ripe forest fruits, jubey blackcurrant pastilles and chocolate characters. Full bodied, the attractive fleshy fruits fit into a structure supported by supple tannins, a solid acid backbone and a persistent berry fruit finish small batch-fermented with 4 weeks on skins, then 14 months in French barriques (40% new).
